Ok so I have been MIA

If you have clicked on here recently you have noticed that there hasn't been a post in FOREVER. I haven't been couponing....I have been using coupons BUT not couponing. You may be thinking there is a difference..why yes. Couponing is clipping, hunting the deals, driving to multiple stores to get the deals, and spending little money in the process (except for the gas you are using:). Using coupons is clipping what you might need and going to the store to grocery shop and using a couple coupons.

I am giving a practicle tip at my Mommies Group tomorrow on couponing and thought what better way to start than to update my blog!! I have scoured the ads for this week but nothing really jumped out at me. HOWEVER if you check the above links they will def have more insight on deals at some of your fav stores!!

Have a great week and SAVE, SAVE, SAVE!!

It's hard being an Elf

So I will be taking a temporary leave of the couponing world.....ok maybe not totally because they go with me everywhere just in case. However there will be no hard core planned couponing trips. It is that time of the year where I have teamed up with Santa to make Christmas magical!! So I will be unavailable for a couple weeks. I am however going to be showing Santa some couponing tips and tricks to better stretch his dollar this Christmas season. So I hope all of you have a great Christmas and that you are on the nice list!!
See ya next year!!

New Week, New Savings

Hello savers!! Last week I did some shopping at CVS I purchased a Box of pampers, contact solution, 4bottles of dawn dish det, downy unstopables, and a lysol auto pump hand soap dispenser. I spent for these items a total of $31.50 a retail value of around $60. So this is how i did it....my first purchase consisted of the 4bottles of dawn and the lysol pump. The dawn was on sale for $.99 and I had 2 coupons for $.50 and 2 coupons for $.25 the lysol pump was on sale for $10 with $5 extra bucks back and I had a $3 coupon. My second purchase was the box of pampers which had been reduced to $18 and I had a $2 coupon I then used my $5 extra bucks earned from the lysol pump and I had also earned $1 extra buck from using my green bag tag. Third purchase was the contact solution for $9 and you earned $8.99 in extra bucks so essentially you got it for FREE!! The fourth and final purchase was the downy unstopables, which if you ever have used in your laundry you become addicted because they are WONDERFUL!!! Anyways the downy retails for $8 and I had a $2 coupon and I used my $8.99 extra bucks....I then HAD to purchase some candy to make up for the difference and the candy was buy 2 get 1. I ended up paying $.63 for the candy and the downy....WHOOHOO. So here is the kicker after this we were on our way to pick up some chinese food and waaa waaa waaa...we got a flat tire.....BOOOO. BUT at least we got our downy for free!!

I haven't scooped out the savings for this week yet, I have been too busy working on Christmas gifts. It's hard helping Santa!!

Have a great week with lots of savings!!

I'm Not There Yet.....

So i have been super saving it up this past week.....it is such a rush when you can save on the things that you are actually needing. Now I am no Extremer but one day I too may have 70 separate transactions with 4 hours in checkout paying only $.50 for my whole order.....OK probably not.

So my super saving adventure started this past sat at Walgreens and CVS..........

OK so that is a post that I started mid October and then went on vaca for a couple of weeks and didn't get to finish it. However it would of been a good one....oh well. If you are still checking my blog thank you I know that I have not been as good at posting but just keep checking.

I went last week to Harris Teeter to do some heavy grocery shopping since we had been gone for so long and we had no food. They had a lot of good deals and I had good bunch of coupons, anyway I ended up saving $101 and spent $150. It was a good haul I am hoping to go again either today or tomorrow for some more good deals. I don't know if you checked your sale flyers this week for CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, etc. but they have some good deals going on pre black friday. Hope you have a good week of saving and for those black friday shoppers GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Thanks for checking in
Happy Saving

Guilty

Ok so it has been awhile since my last post....so sorry!! I have been laying low in the coupon world. The last couponing I did was at Harris Teeter for triple coupons a couple weeks ago. It wasn't major savings but it was good enough.

So I just watched last weeks extreme couponing on TLC and it still blows my mind. I think I am just not as dedicated as these extremers. I LOVE to save money BUT to dedicate multiple multiple hours preparing and then shopping and then don't get me started on checkout time, it's just not in the cards for me. I also have a small child that goes shopping with me and if I spent that much time in the store it would get ugly. So I am looking forward to tonights extreme couponing episode the DVR is set and I am ready.

This past weeks newspaper was stacked full of coupons I love the first Sunday paper of the month it always has good coupons!! So I have been preparing for my next shopping trip I am hoping for big savings and cupboards full of food.

Have a great week of saving and thank you for continuing to check out this tiny lil blog of mine!!

Match It!!

We have all seen the Wal-Mart commercials where they will match the price Without the ad and it just looks so easy.....Sure!! So I went with NO ads but had looked up online different ads to test this out. Walgreens had there new Huggies slip on diapers for $8.99 and Harris Teeter had there campbell soup for $1 a can. With my vast knowledge and some coupons in hand I headed up to the register I held back those specific items till the end to let them know that they needed to be Price Matched. So I let her (the cashier) .know of the prices and where and she asked if I had the flyers...of course I didn't because HELLO the commercials said you don't need them. So she had to go on a hunt to find the flyers to make sure that my prices were accurate.....hum I don't recall that happening on TV. Anyways after the long search she indeed found that I was correct.DUH. The plus side of this is I got the diapers for $3.99 a pack because I had them match a price and I had $5 in coupons to use for each pack. So they will match BUT it is not as easy as they make it look on the commercials.

So IT'S BACK......Extreme Coupons on TLC. It premiers tonight I can't wait to see what antics these crazy ladies pull out. Big Night...I don't know which is more pathetic the fact that this is what my life has come to or the fact that in a small way I am one of these crazy ladies??

On and end note yesterday was a great Sunday Coupon day. Which totally made up for last week not having any coupons. I am slighly behind on clipping and organizing my coupon pile but I have scanned them and am ready to go save.

Have a Great Week and Happy Saving

Is this week over YET

Ok so first things first there are NO I repeat NO COUPONS in tomorrows papers. So don't bother getting the paper...I mean if you only get them for the coupons, if you are one of those people that enjoy what is going on in the world then forge ahead!!

So I had a sick little boy...funny i said HAD I mean Have a sick little boy and it has been snot city here all week. So not much couponing got done this week, which I don't think I missed much....at least I would like to think that so I don't feel coupon anxiety!!

On the Up Side last weeks Sunday paper was chalked full of coupon inserts. So that was excited, I have yet to actually organize mine but what I saw at a glance looked promising.

So a little tip if you go on Southern Savers (link at top) you can see a coupon preview for the upcoming week. I like to take a look so I don't waste time or money on yucky or non existing coupons. I know what you are thinking YUCKY COUPONS....well it's true some are ala poo poo, just my opinion.

Hope you have had a good week and have a great week coming up
Happy Saving

Coupon Palooza

What a fantastic week for coupons.....4 inserts in the Sunday paper. It was like Christmas in July.

Well let's see what is good for the week....Walgreens has a good deal on Crest mouthwash it is priced at 3.99 with a $1 register reward with purchase and if you use the $2 coupon from the P&G insert it is like paying $.99......That is math that I like!!

Deal idea for CVS: First transaction, purchase Gillette Fusion ProGlide mens razor for 9.99 use the 4.00 coupon from the P&G insert and receive a $5 extra buck with the purchase.
Second transaction, Take the $5 extrabucks you earned with the first transaction and use it towards the purchase of a pack of Pampers which are priced at 8.99 use the $2 coupon from the P&G insert making the pack of pampers.....$1.99......PLUS you get a $1 extrabucks with the purchase.
I hope the CVS example helped you come up with your own Super Coupon deal!!

Have a Great Week of Saving

Good Deals

Hello couponers my coupon drop was successful yesterday...I haven't heard from anyone so I don't know if anyone found them or not, but I did my part.

Anyway I went to Harris Teeter on Tues. my final outcome wasn't my best by any means I only saved $33 and spent $90...BOOO. I hadn't been to the grocery store for a lil bit so I had to buy things that I had no coupons for and were not on sale...OH WELL.

On a happier note I got 2 cases of water at Rite Aid for $1.67 and walked away with a $1.50 in Up Rewards. How did I do this you ask....well I had bought some diapers last week and for each pack I bought I earned $4 in Up Rewards. I had $8 in Up Rewards and the water was on sale so yadda yadda...water for $1.67.

I also went to CVS to get SoBe water for $.88 and the mouthwash that was on sale that you could earn $2 in ExtraBucks....but NO mouthwash to be found. I did get my 7 bottles of SoBe water so it wasn't a total wash.

Have you had any super finds this week??

So I haven't been on here for a while it is not because I don't love all of you it is because I am on Vacation visiting my family!! They have dial up internet and if you have ever had the privilige of using that it is like having to wait an eternity for anything to download. So anyway I am not doing any couponing because I don't need to haul groceries or personal items home!! BUT not to worry I will be back in action once I am home!!
I hope everybody is doing good and I will talk to you soon

Special Guest!!

So my mommy friend has stopped by as a Special First Time Guest to tell us how to shop at CVS and Target. Enjoy!!

Hello readers! Mendy asked me to do a guest post on my two specialties- Target and CVS. I have always loved Target and shopped at Target and spent waaaay too much money at Target. It wasn't until I started couponing about a year ago that I realized Target can be a gold mine of great deals. As for CVS, I don't think I had ever set foot in that store until I started couponing. It is way overpriced if you go in there and pay full price for things. But don't be intimidated, because it is also a gold mine of great deals once you get the hang of it.
Let's start with CVS because it's more complicated and then I'll finish with my simple and lovely Target.
The first thing you want to do at CVS is go to the front register and ask the cashier for an ExtraCare card. This is your ticket to the good prices, and also the ExtraCare bucks... which is how you will get the good deals. (Don't forget to register your ExtraCare card online when you get home. Just go to CVS.com). Each time you go into CVS you want to scan your card at the big, red Coupon Center. This is usually located near the front door. The machine will print out CVS coupons and any ExtraCare bucks that you have earned.
CVS deals have two categories- ECB (ExtraCare bucks) deals and non-ECB deals. I usually only buy deals that have an ECB attached. What this means is that you will buy a certain product and on your receipt an ECB will print. This is CVS money that can be used toward anything in the store. When you pair ECB's with coupons, you can get items for very cheap or free. Here's an example from this coming week, July 3-9.
-Buy one Oral-B Advantage or Cross Action Toothbrush at $3, get a $1 ECB

Buy 2 Sunday papers (7/3) and find the P&G insert. There will be a $2 off coupon for this toothbrush. So here's your scenario. This deal has a limit of two, so you will do two separate transactions in order to make the most of your money.
Transaction #1
Buy 1 toothbrush @ $3
-Use $2 off coupon
Pay $1 out of pocket and get a $1 ECB, so it's basically free!
Transaction #2
Buy 1 toothbrush @ $3
-Use $2 off coupon
-Use $1 ECB
Pay NOTHING out of pocket and get a $1 ECB, so you are making money!
The more familiar you become with CVS, the more items you can add per transaction and the more ECB's you will make. To find out what deals CVS has each week and to get some ideas for transactions, check out SouthernSavers.com. I know this may seem overwhelming, but if you start out simple and give yourself time to learn, you will find that you will have end up with a mini drugstore in your home with very little money spent on it!
Now to talk about Target, which is much more straight forward. The biggest thing to know about Target is that they will accept one Target coupon and one manufacturer's coupon per item. This is how you will get the best deals. There is currently a great deal on Sally Hansen nail polish... you can get is for just $.04! Here's how-
Buy 1 Sally Hansen nail polish at $2.04
(there will be multiple kinds at multiple prices,
so try to search until you find the cheapest one)
-Use $1 off Target coupon (under beauty)
-Use $1 0ff Manufacturer's coupon (under personal care)
Pay just $.04 out of pocket!
To find Target deals I use SouthernSavers.com, and MyFrugalAdventures.com. I tend to go to Target at least once a week to grab the new deals that have come out over the previous week... and I might also grab extra stuff I wasn't planning on buying because hey, I just love that store!
I hope this post has help shed some light on these two stores. If you have any questions, come visit me at my blog! Happy couponing!!!

Extreme VS Reality

OK I love watching the TLC show Extreme Couponing as much as the next but come on.....who can realistically shop and stock up like that....if you are reading this and you are an extreme couponer than please do not be offended. Every time the episode comes on it is always the persons "biggest haul" to date and they get nothing that a normal human being could live off of. UNLESS we went on a vitamin water, cereal, and Tylenol pm diet.

To make things worse now people have become greedy coupon hoarders.....let's get up and stalk the Sunday paper delivery boy and take ALL the papers.....MMMMMAAAHHH(that is my evil laugh)!! We have a military paper here that comes out on Thurs and they have coupon inserts in them.....the best is the paper and coupons are FREE!! Do you think you can find these papers now NO because literally people are waiting for the delivery person and taking them all...base is starting to action with the potential of losing base privileges. THE MADNESS MUST STOP!! I love my coupons as much as the next...but I will not lose precious sleep time to run around like a mad woman trying to get all the coupons at the butt crack of dawn.

MOVING ON....So I went to CVS this week to get a few things that were on sell that I had coupons for and that I needed. I bought 9 packs of cottonelle wipes.... I like to have a fresh hiney... I pd $1.75 per pack. I also got some toilet gels for a $1 a box and some 2liter cokes for $.79. It was a successful trip except for when I returned home with all my cottonelle wipes and showed my husband he looked at me with this look and said.....I don't use those that is what toilet paper is for. MEN they just don't get it!!
Total Balance I pd was $22
AHHH Sweet Freshness.....Be nice to your Hiney and
it will be nice to you!!
Total Amount saved was $22
